The air shower is the necessary passage of entering cleanrooms, which can reduce the risk of contamination caused by personnels or materials during the process of going into the clean zone from non-clean zone. Before entering cleanrooms, dust particles carried by working staffs or materials can be effectively blown off by the air at the speed of 25m/s sprayed from stainless steel nozzles on sides or top of the air shower.
The working principle of air showers is, after the air is filtered by primary efficiency filters, it is inhaled into the static pressure box by the centrifugal fan, purified by HEPA filters further, and sprayed from rotatable nozzles at high speed, which can effectively remove dust particles. After being filtered, the air will recirculate into the air shower.

What Is the Working Principle of A Cleanroom Air Shower?
When an air shower operates, the air is drawn by the fan unit, filtered by the primary filters and blown into the unit’s plenum (static pressure chamber). After the primary purification, the air passes through the HEPA filters(99.99%@0.3um). The highly purified air is ejected at high speed through nozzles installed on the side walls, directed towards the surfaces of people or cargos, effectively removing dust particles. The airflow carries the dislodged particles and back into the primary filter for initial filtration. This process cycles repeatedly, forming a self-contained, recirculating air purification unit.
How to Operate and Use An Air Shower?
Strict adherence to the following procedures based on the air shower’s operating principle is essential for both effective decontamination and equipment protection.
1. Preparation and Entry
Confirm the air shower is idle by checking the viewing window and status indicator after gowning. Wait approximately two seconds after the previous user exits and the door closes before entering.
2. During the Shower Blowing
Walk directly through the photoelectric sensor to automatically initiate the shower blowing after entry. Raise your hands and rotate 360 degrees to ensure comprehensive air-jet coverage. Both doors remain locked during operation, please do not attempt to open. In case of any emergency during blowing, please press the emergency stop button to halt the cycle and unlock the doors.
3. Completion and Exit
After the air stops blowing, please wait two seconds before opening the exit door to leave.
